Coulombs law, or Coulombs inverse-square law, is a law of physics that quantifies the amount of force with which stationary electrically charged particles repel or attract each other.
Coulombs law states that the magnitude of the electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Coulombs Law Formula:
F = Ke * q1 * q2 /r²
where:
F - electrostatic force between charges (in Newtons)
q1 - magnitude of the first charge (in Coulombs)
q2 - magnitude of the second charge (in Coulombs)
r - shortest distance between the charges (in m)
Ke - Coulombs constant. 9.988 * 10^9 N * m² / C².
